Prime Minister Albin Kurti has referred to footballer Lorik Cana as the “iconic captain of Albania.” Sharing a photo with the former captain of the Albanian national team, Kurti highlighted Cana’s ongoing efforts to promote Albanian national culture.
“We last met this summer during the European Football Championship in Germany, supporting the Albanian national team. A few days ago, in Tirana, he presented a documentary about the Arbëresh people of Italy. His brilliance on the field as Albania’s iconic captain continues with the great work he does to promote Albanian national culture,” Kurti wrote.
Today’s meeting between them, according to the Prime Minister, was focused on discussing positive developments in sports.
“In particular, we emphasized the importance of popularizing sports and physical activity, to make them part of the general culture of society. Always a pleasure to talk with Lorik Cana, the young man from Gjakova, who has made a significant contribution to maintaining the spirit of patriotism,” the Prime Minister concluded.
