Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in a joint conference with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković, stated that he views Croatia as a key partner.
Kurti addressed the recent attack in Iber Lepenc, describing it as a new type of assault, as “this time, the civilian population was the target.”
“We have previously experienced terrorist attacks against the Kosovo Police, and attacks on municipal government buildings, but this time the civilian population was targeted because the water supply and electricity production, which are vital for both citizens and businesses, were affected,” he said.
Kurti mentioned that several individuals have been arrested in connection with the terrorist attack and that investigations are ongoing.
He added that weapons and ammunition had been confiscated.
“We must wait for the conclusion of these investigations. However, we believe that everything points to the fact that this was not carried out by ordinary citizens, and we are inclined to believe that such an terrorist attack was supported and orchestrated by Serbia, just as in the case of the attack in Banjska, the KFOR attack in May 2023, or the abduction of three of our police officers in Leposaviq in June 2023,” Kurti said.
“The nervousness in Belgrade is being translated into aggression against Kosovo, as they can no longer control Kosovo. Therefore, they are supporting such terrorist attacks,” he added.
