Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has issued a strong warning, stating that Russia will show no mercy to any country that dares to attack during the “Victory Day” celebrations.
His remarks come one day before the annual event, which he described as a “sacred holiday” for Russians. Lavrov also accused the West of strengthening what he called the “Nazi regime in Kyiv.”
Speaking during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov said Russia would eliminate any security threats originating from Ukrainian territory.
“I want to say this with honesty and absolute responsibility: if what the reborn Nazis of the West are planning through Ukraine happens, there will be no mercy for them,” Lavrov stated, referring to Western support for Ukraine’s government.
The statement reflects escalating rhetoric between Moscow and Western countries amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
