Discussions on the Future of the Western Balkans in Ljubljana, Trocaz and Sarrazin Participate, Lajčak Seen as Well

Geopolitical changes that began following the re-election of President Donald Trump are expected to specifically impact the Western Balkans.

Regarding this issue, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with the initiative of former President Borut Pahor, several politicians who have held high positions, as well as EU state envoys, have gathered to discuss the future of the region.

French Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Rene Trocaz, confirmed his participation in this gathering, where discussions focused on the future of the Western Balkans in light of ongoing changes.

The event also saw the presence of German envoy Manuel Sarrazin and Miroslav Lajčak, the former EU mediator for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Trocaz expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, stating: “I am pleased to have participated in the high-level meeting in Ljubljana on the future of the Balkans in the context of new challenges. Thanks to the organizers, ‘Friends of the Western Balkans,’ and especially to President Borut Pahor,” he wrote.

Other notable attendees included former diplomats Bujar Osmani and Ditmir Bushati, as well as former Serbian President Boris Tadić.
