The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated that the possibility of running for a second term will be discussed next year when her mandate ends, and Kosovo will need to elect a new president.
Osmani emphasized that no political decision of hers has been made for personal calculations.
“Next year, we will discuss this issue. Throughout my political career, I have always worked with Kosovo’s and its citizens’ interests in mind. Never, not a single political decision of mine, has been based on calculations about where I will be, but only on where Kosovo and its citizens will be. Even this time, the evaluation of where I can contribute will only be made with Kosovo’s and its citizens’ interests in mind,” she said.
She also highlighted that she is not dependent on politics and that she will continue to serve the citizens of Kosovo for as long as they want her to remain in service.
“I have never in my life been dependent on politics, nor am I now. I will serve the citizens of Kosovo for as long as they want me to serve them,” Osmani said to the media.
This statement was made by the president after the launch of an initiative to support access to finance for female entrepreneurs.
