The Chief Negotiator of Serbia, Petar Petković, has accused EU spokesperson Peter Stano of “recognizing Kosovo” in response to a statement made by the European official regarding the anniversary of the attack in Banjskë. Petković complained that Stano published the flag of Kosovo in his post.
On Tuesday, Petković wrote on social media platform X that Stano is exceeding his mandate, stating, “If he has changed employers, he should clarify that. Who authorized the EU spokesperson, Peter Stano, to violate the neutrality of the EU’s status by recognizing so-called Kosovo? On whose behalf is Stano speaking, and why is he exceeding his mandate when five EU states do not recognize Kosovo’s independence? If he has changed employers, he needs to state that clearly.”
