The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, organized this year’s “Feast of the Lamb” for the children, youth, and staff of the SOS Children’s Village in Kosovo.
This dinner, which represents a tradition initiated by former President Ibrahim Rugova, aims to celebrate the riches and blessings of the land of Kosovo and to continue preserving this important cultural tradition.
The “Feast of the Lamb” dates back to the 5th century and marks the end of summer, a time when we gather fruits, grains, and express our gratitude for this year’s blessings.
The “Feast of the Lamb” is part of a rich spiritual heritage that the Albanians have inherited and preserved since ancient times.
Alongside other celebrations, the “Feast of the Lamb” has survived through the centuries and has been passed down to our days, becoming an essential part of our ancient culture and influencing the preservation and cultivation of our spirit of solidarity.
For centuries, under the banner of love for one another and respect for friends, Albanians have supported each other in cultivating and gathering the harvest, laying the table as a sign of gratitude for the blessings collected.
