The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, commented on U.S. President Donald Trump and his criticisms of the European Union and NATO in an interview with Mario Nawfal.

She emphasized that the United States, due to its tremendous contribution to a free and peaceful Europe, has the right to speak on matters they consider not based on the values they believe in.

“The United States has made a historic contribution to a free and peaceful Europe. This contribution is indisputable, and I think that because of this contribution, the U.S. has the right to speak when there are issues they believe are not based on the values they hold dear,” said Osmani.

Regarding the statements made by U.S. Vice President JD Vance and President Trump, Osmani emphasized that she does not believe they pose a threat to the European Union. She stated that these remarks are a call for Europe to wake up and work harder to defend its interests.

“I don’t think U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s speech or Trump’s statements are in any way threatening the EU. Quite the opposite, I think it is a call for Europe to work more on defending itself and to protect its interests,” President Osmani said.

Osmani highlighted that the relationship between the U.S. and Europe is not at risk and that Trump has a different way of handling things, an approach that is often more successful.

“I don’t think the relationship between the U.S. and Europe is at risk. President Trump simply has a different way of doing things, a different approach to solving problems, and sometimes this turns out to be more successful than what we’ve seen in the past.”

She believes that U.S. President Trump will continue to support NATO and maintain strong relations with Europe.
