The Municipality of Prishtina has issued a call for caution in anticipation of the end-of-year holidays. Several guidelines for citizens and emergency contact numbers have been made public.
One of the points calls on citizens to be vigilant of their surroundings and immediately report to authorities any suspicious cases, situations, or individuals that may pose a threat to public order and security.
Another point urges citizens not to hesitate to report any “abandoned objects or packages in public spaces.”
“We urge special caution in crowded areas such as: squares and city centers, commercial and festive spaces, cultural venues, and other public events,” states the Municipality’s appeal.
The Municipality has outlined measures to be enforced during the holidays, which include an increased police presence and intensified security checks.
Measures to be implemented during the holidays as published by the Municipality of Prishtina:
- Increased Presence of Law Enforcement and Security Forces
- Additional patrols will be present in main squares and areas with high concentrations of citizens.
- Warning Regarding the Use of Fireworks
- Citizens are reminded that the use of fireworks is dangerous and prohibited in public spaces.
- Increased inspections will be carried out by relevant authorities.
- Emergency Services and First Aid
- All emergency teams in the Capital, as well as the Kosovo Police, will be on standby 24/7 for any possible situation.
- Call for Extra Caution
- Citizens are urged to pay special attention to children and the elderly in large crowds.
