Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with the United States Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, during an official visit to Tirana, focusing on strengthening the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States.
According to Rama, the discussions centered on the close diplomatic and military relations between the two countries, as well as continued cooperation in key areas of mutual interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties and enhancing coordination within the NATO framework.
A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Tirana in 2027. The event is expected to place Albania at the center of international attention as it hosts one of the alliance’s most important gatherings.
Rama emphasized that the summit represents an important milestone for Albania, highlighting the country’s role as a reliable NATO partner and its contribution to regional and global security.
