Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that his personal relationship with Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, is very friendly, though unavoidable differences exist on an institutional level.

In an interview with DW Shqip, Rama said:
“…I have a very friendly personal relationship with Albin, but there are unavoidable differences in perspectives, which we share openly and directly. In all aspects of cooperation with Kosovo, including intergovernmental collaboration, we have made significant progress, and we are working together on a major project like the Durrës–Pristina railway.”

Rama also addressed accusations regarding his relations with Serbia, noting:
“I understand all the labels that have been assigned to me… I don’t take them badly. My approach is with the truth and with those who trust me; it’s not about everyone agreeing or liking what I do.”

Regarding the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Rama emphasized that Pristina should fulfill all its unilateral obligations, leaving the ball in Serbia’s court:
“In my view, Kosovo should forget entirely about Serbia… fulfill all dialogue requirements unilaterally and leave the ball in Serbia’s court… it should completely detach from Serbia and not live under Serbia’s shadow.”
