A special parliamentary session has been scheduled for 10:00 AM today to decide on the formation of Kosovo’s new government. The nominee for prime minister is Albin Kurti, following Vetëvendosje’s victory in the February 9 elections.
To form the government, Kurti needs at least 61 votes. However, he currently has 48 deputies from his own party and is expected to rely on support from non-majority community representatives.
So far, no formal coalition has been announced, and it remains unclear whether Kurti will secure his third term as prime minister.
Almost all major parties have refused cooperation with Vetëvendosje — PDK, LDK, and AAK have each publicly ruled out joining a coalition. The only potential partner, NISMA, has left the door slightly open but with conditions, particularly regarding the position of Speaker of the Assembly.
