Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has issued a statement regarding the shooting on the school campus in Orebro, saying, “It is a very painful day for the whole of Sweden.”

“My thoughts are with those affected and their loved ones. My thoughts are also with everyone whose normal school day was replaced by terror.”

“Being locked in a classroom, fearing for your life, is a nightmare that no one should have to experience,” he said in a post on X.

Kristersson stated that the government is in close contact with the police and is monitoring developments.

“The operation is still ongoing, and it is important that the public follows information from the police. I urge people to allow the police to work without being distracted so they can investigate what happened and how these terrible crimes occurred,” Kristersson said, according to BBC.
