Imam Khomeini International Airport has resumed some international flights on Saturday morning, according to local media reports.

The first departing flights from Tehran were headed to Istanbul, Muscat, and Medina.

The resumption came after the airport’s CEO, Ramin Kashef Azar, told the Iranian Labour News Agency on Friday that international passenger flights would restart on Saturday.

Air traffic had been largely suspended following the outbreak of war on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran, prompting retaliatory strikes from Tehran.

The conflict has been paused since April 8 under a ceasefire mediated by Pakistan.

Washington and Tehran held talks in Pakistan two weeks ago, with ongoing efforts to organize a new round of negotiations.

Abbas Araghchi is currently in Islamabad, while U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also en route to the Pakistani capital. However, the chances of an immediate resumption of direct talks remain low.
