Hashim Thaçi’s lawyer, Luka Mishetiq, informed that the former president’s request to attend his father’s funeral was submitted yesterday before 14:00.
He clarified that Thaçi would not be attending today’s ceremony and did not provide further comments on the matter.
“I have received many media inquiries today regarding a statement from the Specialist Chambers this morning suggesting that my client, Hashim Thaçi, has not made any request to attend his father’s funeral.
To correct the record: Mr. Thaçi made the request yesterday before 14:00 to attend today’s funeral. Mr. Thaçi will not attend the funeral today. I will not have any further comment at this moment,” wrote Thaçi’s lawyer on X.
