The Special Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against D.M and Z.K, of Serbian nationality, for war crimes against the civilian population.
The two accused have been remanded in custody since September 2023
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, “the defendants, Z.K and D.K., during the war in Kosovo, in collaboration with other members of the police, army and Serbian paramilitaries, dressed in police uniforms and armed, knowingly and intentionally, acting according plan and orders of their superiors, have directly participated in the attack against the civilian population of Albanian nationality”.
Moreover, Z.K. and D.K., in co-perpetration, committed the criminal offense “War crimes against the civilian population” from Article 142 in relation to Article 22 of the LP of the RSFJ, also foreseen by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, War crimes in serious violation of common article 3 of the Geneva Conventions from article 146 paragraph 1 and 2 under paragraph 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 of the KPRK, related to article 31 of the KPRK.
