The Municipality of Prishtina announced today, June 10, 2026, that following the completion of a phase of infrastructure and road repair works in the Lakërishte neighborhood, traffic patterns for motor vehicles on “Hekurudha” and “Vicianum” roads have been restructured, reverting traffic to its original state.
The municipal administration, led by Mayor Përparim Rama, justified these changes as necessary measures aimed at improving overall traffic flow, reducing congestion, and increasing road safety across the busy transit zone now that the construction phase has concluded.
New Traffic Flow and Directional Guide
Drivers navigating through Lakërishte should take note of the newly implemented one-way restrictions and designated two-way routes:
- “Hekurudha” Road (One-Way): Traffic will now flow in a single direction, starting from the intersection with the M-2 Highway and moving toward “Tirana” and “Bekim Fehmiu” roads.
- “Vicianum” Road (One-Way): Traffic will operate in a single direction, starting from the intersection with “Ahmet Krasniqi” road and heading toward the M-2 Highway.
- Two-Way Exceptions: Both “Bekim Fehmiu” road and “Tirana” road will continue to maintain regular two-way traffic flow.
Official Call for Driver Caution
“These adjustments have been made with the clear objective of optimizing traffic operations and enhancing safety after the completion of critical infrastructure works in this section of the Lakërishte neighborhood,” the Municipality of Prishtina stated in its official advisory.
Municipal authorities are urging all motorists and commuters to strictly respect the newly installed road signs and to exercise an increased level of caution as drivers adapt to the restored traffic routes.
