The administration of President Donald Trump will present its peace plan to end the war in Ukraine and Russia’s aggression during the proceedings of the Munich Security Conference in Germany next week.
This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the issue within the Trump administration.
The proposal will be presented by the White House’s special envoy for the Ukraine-Russia conflict, Keith Kellogg.
According to forecasts, the plan will include a freeze of the conflict along the current front lines, an undecided status for the territories currently occupied by Russian forces, and security guarantees for Kyiv that would prevent Moscow from attacking again.
Kellogg, a retired general from the US Army, confirmed on social media today that he will attend the Munich conference.
He recently stated that the United States would like to help organize elections in Ukraine after a ceasefire.
Trump, for his part, indicated earlier this week that the agreement could include US access to critical minerals in Ukraine, mentioning its rich lands, and threatened Russia with severe sanctions if the Kremlin does not engage in negotiations to end the bloody conflict, which will enter its third year on February 24.
