As of today, citizens of Kosovo can travel to Israel for tourism without needing a visa, provided they hold a valid Kosovar passport and apply in advance for an ETA-IL.
This step follows the visa waiver agreement between the two countries, signed on June 18, 2024, ratified on February 5, 2025, and officially entered into force on May 5, 2025.
Israel’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Tamara Ziv, emphasized that this has been one of her top priorities during her tenure.
She noted that diplomatic relations between Kosovo and Israel were established four years ago and that since then, ongoing efforts have been made to strengthen ties—one of the main priorities being free travel and facilitating easier access for people and businesses in both countries.
“I’m pleased to mark this moment—the first day of visa liberalization between Kosovo and Israel,” she said in an interview with RTK.
To travel to Israel, citizens of Kosovo must complete a simple ETA-IL application—an electronic process that grants prior entry approval.
Ziv also added that this step will positively impact business exchanges between the two countries, emphasizing that Kosovar citizens will no longer need to travel to Tirana to obtain a visa.
“It used to be necessary to go to Tirana to get a visa, but starting today, that’s no longer required. Now, anyone can simply book a flight and come to Israel. We’ll be very happy to welcome all Kosovar citizens coming for business or any other purpose. We look forward to having them here and boosting exchanges between the two countries. Israelis will also come to visit Kosovo,” she added.
