Aleksandar Vučić has issued a threat following recent actions by Kosovo authorities in northern municipalities, stating that Serbia will wait for a “favorable moment in international relations” regarding developments related to Kosovo.

His remarks came after Kosovo institutions took control of railway stations in Zvecan, Leposaviq and Leshak facilities that Kosovo authorities consider part of Serbia’s parallel and illegal structures operating in the north.

Speaking from China, Vučić claimed that “Serbs in Kosovo are facing many difficulties,” adding that Serbia must “carry this burden” and wait for a shift in international circumstances that would allow the implementation of the Brussels Agreement and respect for the UN Charter.

He further accused Western countries of allegedly “inciting tensions and persecuting the Serb population,” reiterating claims of double standards in the treatment of Serbia and Kosovo.

The remarks come amid ongoing tensions in northern Kosovo, where authorities have moved to dismantle remaining parallel institutions. Kosovo officials say these structures operate outside the legal framework of the Republic of Kosovo.

Xhelal Sveçla, acting Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that the seized facilities were among the last remaining institutions functioning under Serbia-backed parallel systems.

Previously, Petar Petković also criticized Kosovo’s actions and urged Serbs to support the Serb List in the upcoming elections scheduled for June 7.

The issue continues to fuel political tension between Belgrade and Pristina, with international actors repeatedly calling for de-escalation and dialogue.
