In the streets of Podgorica, activists from this party organized a celebration. The head of the DPS, Milo Đukanović, celebrated by singing, “No one can stop us, we are stronger than Serbia…” while his comrades joined in chorus.
Following this, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić spoke out.
Vučić stated that both he and the former president of Montenegro and leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Milo Đukanović, share the same obsession—”Serbia, which I love, while Đukanović hates it.”
He made these comments to reporters during a ceremony marking the completion of construction on the St. Regis Belgrade in Kula, commenting on Đukanović’s celebration in Podgorica after the preliminary election results were announced, during which the song “We are stronger than Serbia” was sung.
“I saw it; it’s interesting. We have completely different programs, plans, and ideas, but we share a common obsession. We are both fixated on Serbia—I love it, he hates it. And I will continue to love it, while he will continue to hate it. At the same time, I will continue to respect and love the people of Montenegro—both Serbs and Montenegrins, and everyone else,” Vučić said.
