Under the slogan “Not One Cent More,” a new protest has begun in Pristina opposing the increase in electricity prices.

The protest coincides with the day the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) made its final decision on the new electricity tariffs, although the exact percentage of the increase has yet to be publicly announced.

Organizers have called on citizens to join the protest, opposing the proposed 15% increase in electricity prices announced by ZRRE.

“The increase in electricity prices doesn’t only affect the bill—it affects bread, oil, milk—every aspect of our daily lives,” said the organizing group in a statement on Facebook.

It’s worth noting that a similar protest took place on April 5 in Skanderbeg Square, where hundreds of citizens participated. The Presidency also reacted to the decision, stating that an increase in electricity prices would have a chain reaction across the economy.
