Councilors in the Municipal Assembly of Zeta, a municipality in Montenegro, have adopted a declaration annulling the decision on the recognition of Kosovo within the territory of Zeta, according to RTCG reporters.
The declaration was supported by councilors from the DNP, Nova, Marko Vukčević from the Democrats, as well as independent councilors Nikola Rajović, Svetozar Uličević, and Lidija Panić, reported Vijesti.
DPS councilors did not participate in the session, while before the vote, Democratic councilors Aleksandra Petričević and Luka Krstović left the hall.
The proposer of the decision, Nebojša Nikčević, said the initiative was signed by 18 councilors.
He stated that the Municipal Assembly of Zeta concludes that all previous governments have ignored “the majority view of the citizens of Montenegro that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia.”
The president of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) and member of the Parliament of Montenegro, Milan Knežević, announced that the Municipality of Zeta has annulled the decision on the recognition of Kosovo.
“Entry into eternity begins with a small step, and ends with the march of eternity,” Knežević wrote in a post on X.
