The Croatian Minister of Defence, Ivan Anušić, confirmed that a trilateral meeting with his counterparts from Albania and Kosovo took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. Ministers Pirro Vengu of Albania and Ejup Maqedonci of Kosovo also participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed current and upcoming activities under the Defence and Security Cooperation Declaration, through which Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo are developing new defence industry projects and strengthening military collaboration.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Anušić emphasized that the declaration “contains absolutely nothing contentious” and that the trilateral cooperation does not pose a threat to any country.
He further stated that the goal of this partnership is to enhance stability and security in Southeast Europe, while also deepening the alliance and strategic cooperation among the three friendly nations.
Analysts note that the initiative reflects a broader trend of regional defence coordination in the Western Balkans, aiming to strengthen resilience amid evolving security challenges, including hybrid threats and geopolitical tensions.
