Enver Hoxhaj, a deputy from Kosovo’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), met with European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas during the Munich Security Conference, emphasizing Kosovo’s ambitions to secure candidate status for EU membership.

According to Hoxhaj, the meeting focused on Kosovo’s European future, the process of obtaining EU candidate status, and the broader strategic importance of Western Balkan integration as a critical step toward completing the European project.

Hoxhaj highlighted that advancing Kosovo’s EU path is not only vital for the country’s political and economic development but also strengthens stability and cooperation across the region.

“Kosovo’s integration into the European Union is a strategic imperative for the Western Balkans and Europe as a whole,” Hoxhaj stated following the meeting.

The discussions come amid ongoing efforts by Kosovo to accelerate reforms and align its policies with EU standards, paving the way for full membership negotiations in the coming years.
