On the eve of Kosovo’s 18th Independence Day, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK), held a meeting with Brigadier General William McClintock, Deputy Adjutant of the Iowa National Guard, and his staff.
During the meeting, General Jashari thanked General McClintock for the Iowa National Guard’s support in building the capacities of the FSK. He also briefed the delegation on current developments within the FSK and its role in national security, highlighting its contribution to regional stability.
In response, General McClintock congratulated General Jashari on his leadership and the achievements of the FSK, while also extending Independence Day greetings to the people of Kosovo.
Both generals praised the progress made by the FSK in modernizing its capabilities and commended the high level of interoperability achieved during joint activities, particularly in the preparatory deployment training at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) in the United States.
To honor his contribution, General Jashari awarded General McClintock the Medal for Selfless Service, recognizing his unwavering support in developing and advancing the joint partnership program between the FSK and the Iowa National Guard.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that deepening cooperation between the FSK and the Iowa National Guard remains a strategic priority. Strengthening Kosovo’s defense capabilities is seen as essential for maintaining a stable and secure regional environment.
