Judge Charles Smith has officially and procedurally closed the court case against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), following the final statements delivered by the four accused.
In his remarks, Judge Smith thanked all those who contributed to the proceedings:
“The Trial Panel wishes to thank all individuals who have assisted in the successful completion of this judicial process. We have felt greatly supported by the contributions made to ensure the fairness of the proceedings. We thank and express our gratitude to the stenographers, interpreters, and everyone involved. In accordance with Rule 136, this trial is hereby closed.”
With this declaration, the case has formally concluded at the trial stage, marking a significant procedural moment in the proceedings against the former UÇK leaders.
