On the 18th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence, the civic platform “Liria Ka Emër” carried out a symbolic action in Prishtina, projecting the slogan: “Independence Day – Still Defending Our Freedom” onto the Assembly building.
The projection features the figures of former UÇK leaders and highlights that the defense of freedom continues, 26 years after liberation and 18 years after independence.
Ismail Tasholli emphasized:
“Today we celebrate Independence, but at the same time we remember that our freedom is still being defended. 26 years after liberation and 18 years after independence, our liberators – Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi – are facing justice in The Hague. We believe in justice, but demand that it be impartial and fair.”
The message “Still Defending Our Freedom” symbolizes the conviction that the liberation war was just, and that defending its dignity remains a civic and national obligation.
In addition, Prishtina witnessed the largest march in the history of free Kosovo, “Justice, Not Politics”, where over 130,000 citizens filled the city’s squares, sending a clear message calling for impartial justice and the protection of the dignity of the liberation struggle.
