President Vjosa Osmani expressed optimism that she will receive support from all members of the Kosovo Assembly to continue her mandate as head of state.
“I expect support from all deputies of the Republic of Kosovo and all political parties that wish well for Kosovo, without exception,” Osmani said in an interview with Kanal 10.
She clarified that when she refers to deputies, she also includes the leaders of those deputies.
Regarding her relationship with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Osmani stated:
“We maintain a good, institutional relationship and cooperate on matters of national interest, and this will continue going forward.”
Osmani also emphasized that if she fails to secure parliamentary support, she has other alternatives to remain active in political life:
“Of course there are alternatives. Absolutely yes,” she said, adding that her current focus is to remain in the presidency.
“We are focused on continuing the good work within the framework of the Presidency of the Republic, but if the will of the deputies is different, I am confident that Kosovo and its people will provide opportunities for us to serve in a way determined by the citizens themselves. Whatever their decision, it will be final for me.”
