Today at the Special Court in The Hague, former Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli delivered his closing statement.

Veseli emphasized that while justice can be delayed, it cannot be denied.

“I know who I am, what I have done, and what I have not done… My actions have been lawful,” he said.

He stressed that the court must uphold truth, justice, and impartiality at all costs.

“Even in the darkest moments, I never lost faith that the truth would prevail. Freedom cannot be achieved through injustice. My family and I have lived under constant persecution. I know what it means to live under constant threat—an experience I would not wish on anyone. After decades of investigations and documents, there is no evidence that I committed any crimes,” Veseli added.

He also noted that he returned to Kosovo because he could not remain indifferent to the suffering of his people.

Earlier, former President Hashim Thaçi had delivered his own closing statement.
