Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) will participate in an International Stabilization Force for Gaza, highlighting the country’s readiness to contribute to global peacekeeping efforts.

Kurti said the decision was influenced by the internationally recognized expertise of the FSK in search-and-rescue operations and demining. He also noted that Kosovo itself benefited from international forces, especially during 1999, which motivated the country to contribute to similar missions abroad.

According to Kurti, the initiative was discussed after a request from Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci and the commander of the FSK, Bashkim Jashari, to attend a conference in Doha focused on the creation of the international force.

Kosovo has also provided €500,000 in humanitarian aid for Gaza, while discussions are ongoing about the structure and political framework of the future stabilization mission.

Meanwhile, President Vjosa Osmani stated at the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board in Washington, D.C. that Kosovo is among the first five countries to pledge peacekeeping troops for the joint international effort aimed at improving security in Gaza.
