First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, met with Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, describing the meeting as “brotherly” rather than a typical bilateral encounter.

Konjufca praised Albania for the “giant steps” it has made regarding European integration and emphasized that stronger coordination between Kosovo and Albania ensures a safer path toward the European Union.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed deepening political and economic cooperation, achieving full coordination in foreign policy, and strengthening internal diplomatic capacities.

“My friend Elisa. Meetings with Albanian counterparts are not typical bilateral meetings because, although we have foreign ministries, Albania and Kosovo are not foreign to each other. Our countries are much more: these meetings are brotherly, as part of the same nation sharing historical and political fate,” Konjufca said during the joint press conference.

He highlighted Kosovo’s commitment to implementing all agreements signed with Albania—over 140 agreements—and promoting closer ties between the two countries and societies in every aspect of life.

“During the discussion with Minister Spiropali, I thanked her as always for Albania’s support for Kosovo’s state-building, international representation, and efforts toward membership in key organizations. I am convinced that our coordination will strengthen Kosovo’s path toward membership in the Council of Europe, NATO, and other international organizations. Our future, just like our past, will be forever linked. The stronger our coordination, the safer our path to the European Union,” Konjufca concluded.
