Hungary’s Special Envoy Meets KFOR Commander in Prishtina to Discuss Regional Security

The special envoy of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for the Western Balkans visited Prishtina, where he held a meeting at the headquarters of the NATO-led mission in Kosovo.

According to an official statement, the Commander of Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General Özkan Ulutaş, received Hungarian envoy Zsolt Bunford at Camp Film City. The meeting focused on the current security situation in the region and ongoing cooperation between KFOR and partner countries.

During the discussion, Ulutaş presented an overview of the regional security environment and reaffirmed KFOR’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo. He also expressed sincere appreciation for Hungary’s long-standing contribution to the KFOR mission.

KFOR emphasized that it continues to carry out its mandate based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), working to ensure stability and freedom of movement throughout Kosovo. The mission operates in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in addressing security-related issues.

The meeting comes amid continued diplomatic engagement in the Western Balkans, where international missions and regional partners remain focused on stability and security cooperation.
