The Democratic Kosovo Party (PDK) held a meeting of its presidency on Saturday to discuss the ongoing issue of electing the next president of Kosovo, as political consultations continue among major parties.
According to reports from RTK, the meeting began at 13:00, with party leaders focusing on the political developments surrounding the presidential election process.
Media reports indicate that a new meeting may take place between PDK leader Bedri Hamza and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. The two leaders met earlier this week to discuss the same issue as efforts intensify to reach political agreement.
Kurti has also held talks with Lumir Abdixhiku, the leader of the Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës (LDK). Following these meetings, political representatives suggested that a consensus candidate for the presidency may be necessary in order to secure sufficient support in parliament.
The Assembly of Kosovo has until March 4 to elect the new president, but so far no official candidate has been announced, despite several names being discussed informally in political circles.
