Borko Stefanović, deputy president of the Freedom and Justice Party, sharply criticized remarks made by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić regarding the recent escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
In a public reaction, Stefanović said that Vučić’s statements about the conflict and global powers represent “dangerous gambling with Serbia’s state interests.” According to him, the Serbian leader is provoking major powers by speculating about U.S. intentions in Iran and discussing sensitive geopolitical issues without responsibility.
Stefanović argued that such comments could have serious consequences for Serbia’s international position, adding that the country should avoid unnecessary tensions in global affairs. He also accused Vučić of making speculative claims about U.S. policies and potential regime change in Iran, which he described as reckless and inappropriate for a head of state.
The criticism came after Vučić stated earlier that he does not believe the Middle East conflict marks the beginning of World War III, but warned that the world may be entering a new era where international law is increasingly ignored. He also claimed that the military operation against Iran had been prepared for a long time and suggested that the United States aims to bring about political change in Tehran.
Despite the rising tensions in the Middle East, Vučić emphasized that Serbia’s priority should remain preserving peace and stability.
