EU to Hold Special Security Meeting on Iran Tensions

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that a special Security College meeting will be held on Monday to assess recent developments in Iran and coordinate the EU’s response.

In a public statement, von der Leyen emphasized the importance of avoiding further escalation in the region.

“Following the ongoing situation in Iran, I will convene a special Security College on Monday. For regional security and stability, it is crucial to prevent further escalation through unjustified Iranian attacks against partners in the region,” she wrote on X.

The meeting aims to ensure a coordinated European stance in addressing the tensions and safeguarding regional peace and security.
