Albin Kurti has stated that the election of Kosovo’s President requires a candidate who can secure 81 votes in the Assembly.
A decision on the president is expected within the next few days, ahead of the constitutional deadline on March 4.
“We are continuing our efforts to successfully conclude the challenge of electing the president. We need a candidate who secures 80 votes in the chamber. After meeting with the Chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, we are also meeting with the Chairman of the LDK. Everything will become clear within the next few days,” he said.
Failure to reach an agreement risks triggering early elections.
