Albanian artificial intelligence company Thinking Machines Lab, founded by Mira Murati, has announced a strategic agreement with technology giant Nvidia, currently one of the most valuable companies in the world.

According to the joint announcement, Nvidia will invest in Thinking Machines Lab and provide advanced AI chips to support the training and operation of artificial intelligence models, Bloomberg reported.

Advanced AI chips to power the project

As part of the multi-year partnership, the company will use Nvidia’s next-generation AI chip platform known as “Vera Rubin.”
These processors are expected to enter deployment early next year.

The infrastructure powered by these chips will deliver around one gigawatt of computing power, roughly equivalent to the electricity needed to supply about 750,000 homes.

Nvidia praises Murati’s team

The CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, praised the Thinking Machines team, describing them as world-class experts pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence.

“We are excited to work with Thinking Machines to help realize their vision for the future of AI,” Huang said.

Murati: Partnership will accelerate AI innovation

Murati emphasized that the partnership will accelerate the development of AI technologies that users can shape and use to enhance their own potential.

Under Murati’s leadership, the company—founded after her time as Chief Technology Officer at OpenAI—has hired dozens of leading AI experts.

The startup also launched its first product, Tinker, in October.
The service helps users refine and customize large language models, the technology that powers chatbots such as ChatGPT.

Internal changes at the company

Despite the major partnership, the company has experienced several staff departures in recent months, including its chief technology officer, who has since returned to OpenAI.
