Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), revealed that advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tools helped the U.S. military target and strike 5,500 sites in Iran, including a major ballistic missile production facility.

According to Cooper, the strikes have significantly reduced ballistic and drone attacks from Iran, and over 60 Iranian vessels were among the targets hit. His statement was made in a video posted on social media on Wednesday.

The CENTCOM commander emphasized that AI systems are being used to analyze massive amounts of data within seconds, enabling military leaders to make faster and smarter decisions. However, he was careful to note that final decisions regarding what to strike, when, and how will always be made by humans, ensuring oversight and accountability in operations.
