Dardan Vuniqi Elected Deputy Chair of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council

Dardan Vuniqi has been elected Deputy Chair of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) through an open vote, receiving six votes from KPC members. His mandate begins on March 13, 2026, and will continue until the end of his term as a council member.

Prior to his election, Vuniqi presented his platform and objectives, emphasizing that his commitment is grounded in strengthening public trust in the prosecutorial system and exercising his powers in accordance with the law. He pledged oversight of prosecutorial work, advancement based on transparency, accountability, and legal standards, as well as reinforcing quarterly reporting mechanisms by chief prosecutors.

Special attention will be given to the publication of periodic reports on prosecutors’ work, preparing analyses to improve system performance, and recruiting staff and prosecutors according to updated regulations.

Vuniqi also highlighted the importance of effective human resource planning and inter-institutional cooperation with both domestic and international partners to ensure an efficient and transparent prosecutorial system.
