Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Strait of Hormuz will be closed only to ships belonging to Iran’s enemies and their allies.

He also warned that Tehran could target facilities of American companies in the region if Iran’s energy infrastructure is attacked, adding that the country will try to avoid populated areas.

The statement came after US President Donald Trump said some countries might send warships to keep this strategic maritime route open.
