On the anniversaries of the Epic of Dukagjini and the beginning of NATO bombing of Yugoslavia against the regime of Slobodan Milošević, Ramiz Lladrovci paid tribute through a commemorative message.
Lladrovci wrote that “on this day, 28 years ago, the avalanche of liberation gained momentum from the best sons and daughters of the nation, led by the heroic Haradinaj family through the Epic of Dukagjini, proving that the Kosovo Liberation Army was freedom itself.”
He also referred to the NATO intervention, describing March 24, 1999, as a historic day and one of the longest days of his life.
Full Statement:
March 24, 1998, in Gllogjan marks the day when belief was strengthened that Prekaz and the Jashari family were an unextinguished torch until the liberation of Kosovo.
Together with fellow fighters, central and local leaders of ethnic territories, families of martyrs, and citizens, we laid wreaths and paid tribute at the Memorial of the fallen in Gllogjan.
On this day, 28 years ago, the avalanche of liberation gained momentum from the best sons and daughters of the nation, led by the heroic Haradinaj family through the Epic of Dukagjini, proving that the Kosovo Liberation Army was freedom itself.
The defenders of the nation were in the right place, undefeated until victory!
Twenty-seven years ago, NATO began bombing military targets and the killing machinery of Yugoslavia. The massacres of the Serbian occupier intensified and did not stop until the liberation of Kosovo.
This historic day is among the longest days of my life. It is unforgettable for me and for all contributors to freedom, for the democratic countries that supported our liberation, and for the right of peoples to be free.
I recall the extraordinary emotions of that day, knowing the news several hours before the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia began.
The path to liberation, pursued with effort for a century, proved worthwhile. For the first time, we received the international support that had long been missing. Our unwavering belief in America was being confirmed.
Glory to the Kosovo Liberation Army!
Eternal respect to NATO member states led by the United States of America!
Glory to the martyrs of the nation!
