Israeli strikes hit railways and bridges in Iran on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, according to CNN.

“Yesterday, our pilots destroyed transport planes and dozens of helicopters at an Iranian Air Force base. Today, they targeted the railways and bridges used by the Revolutionary Guard,” Netanyahu said in a video message posted by the Prime Minister’s Office.

“They use these to transport raw materials for weapons, the weapons themselves, and operatives who attack us, the United States, and regional countries — the same operatives who also oppress the Iranian people,” he continued.

Netanyahu emphasized that the strikes “are not aimed at the Iranian people.”

The Israeli military later said on Tuesday that it struck eight Iranian bridges used to transport weapons and military equipment. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the crossings were in multiple locations, including Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, Kashan, and Qom. The army added that measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.

Strikes were also reported on several railway lines across Iran today. Two people were killed after an attack on a railway bridge in Kashan, according to the semi-official Mehr News Agency. The strikes followed a prior IDF warning urging Iranians not to use trains and to stay away from the country’s railways for 12 hours.

Netanyahu’s message comes hours before the deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face U.S. attacks on civilian infrastructure.
