The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has filed an indictment against a suspect identified as S.R., in connection with the 2023 attack on members of the KFOR in Zveçan.

According to the prosecution, the suspect faces charges of “assault on an official person” and “participation in a crowd committing criminal acts and hooliganism.” The case relates to events on 29 May 2023, when violent clashes erupted near the municipal building in Zveçan.

Prosecutors allege that the suspect, acting in coordination with others, took part in a group that carried out attacks against KFOR peacekeepers and officers of the Kosovo Police.

During the incident, the group reportedly used heavy objects, improvised explosive devices, and firearms. At least 30 KFOR personnel were injured, including three who sustained serious gunshot wounds. Several police officers were also injured while performing official duties.

Authorities confirmed that this is the eighth indictment connected to the attack on KFOR troops and Kosovo Police officers during the unrest in northern Kosovo, as investigations into the events continue.
