The Kosovo women’s national football team has achieved its highest-ever position in the FIFA World Rankings, marking an extraordinary period of growth on the global stage. According to the latest figures released by FIFA on Tuesday, Kosovo recorded the highest points increase of any national team worldwide during this ranking cycle.

Following a string of dominant performances—including victories over Gibraltar and Croatia, as well as two consecutive wins against Bulgaria—Kosovo amassed a total of 58.33 points. This surge represents the most significant progress seen globally since the previous rankings were published on December 11, 2025.

A New Milestone for “The Dardanians”

In the newly updated rankings, Kosovo has climbed 11 spots to reach 81st place. This achievement surpasses their previous record of 91st, established in March 2024, and stands in stark contrast to their historical low of 126th. Over the years, the team has maintained a historical average ranking of 108th, making this jump into the top 100 a clear indicator of rapid tactical and structural development.

World Cup 2027 Ambitions

These results have been achieved within the framework of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. The team’s current form suggests they are becoming a formidable contender in European football, reflecting the continuous investment and rising talent within the Kosovar women’s game.
