The Central Election Commission of Kosovo has decided to certify four out of five newly applied political entities for participation in the snap parliamentary elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to Besnik Buzhala, Director of the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Entities, three political coalitions have been certified, including the coalition led by Vetevendosje.

He stated that between May 2 and May 10, 2026, the Office received three coalition applications from registered political parties, one application from a civic initiative, and one application from an independent candidate. In total, 23 political entities applied to participate in these elections.

Among them, the coalition under the name Vetevendosje includes four registered parties: Vetevendosje, Guxo, Alternativa, and the Albanian Christian Democratic Party. This coalition submitted its logo, code of conduct, and political declaration.

The same procedure was followed by the Vakat Coalition and the United Ashkali Coalition, both formed in accordance with Kosovo’s electoral law.

The Office has recommended that the Central Election Commission of Kosovo certify the following:

  • The coalition named Vetevendosje
  • The Vakat Coalition
  • The United Ashkali Coalition
  • Independent candidate Esmir Kasi

However, the Office has recommended rejecting the certification of the civic initiative “Složno Pobeđujemo” due to failure to meet legal requirements under Article 16, paragraph 7 of the Law on General Elections.

The initiative submitted 1,087 physical signatures, of which 1,015 were validated through the CEC platform. During verification, some supporters contacted by the Office stated that they had not personally signed the support lists. Additionally, around 80 individuals could not be reached due to invalid contact information.

The Office also noted that 576 supporters had not provided telephone numbers, despite this being a mandatory requirement under Electoral Regulation 4/2024.

After requesting additional documentation, the initiative was only able to provide 423 additional valid signatures, below the required threshold.

For these reasons, the Office recommended that the Central Election Commission of Kosovo reject certification of the civic initiative.
