The Presidency of the Islamic Community of Kosovo (Bashkësia Islame e Kosovës (BIK)) has announced that the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday will be marked on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
According to BIK’s announcement, the central ceremony for the territory of Kosovo will be held at the Great Mosque in Pristina.
The festive program begins at 04:25 with the Fajr prayer, followed by a thematic lecture dedicated to Eid al-Adha, delivered by Arbnor Sinani, chief imam of the Islamic Community Council in Skenderaj.
The Eid al-Adha prayer will be performed at 05:40, led by Mustafë ef. Dallku, while the sermon (khutbah) and traditional message of the holiday will be delivered by Kosovo Mufti Naim Tërnava.
BIK also announced that on the first day of the holiday, the traditional reception will be held at the headquarters of the Islamic Community of Kosovo from 09:00 to 12:00.
In its greeting message, BIK extended congratulations to all Muslim believers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, praying that God accepts their prayers, worship, pilgrimage, and sacrifices.
