The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, held an official meeting today with the Chairperson and the General Secretary of the Consultative Council for Communities.

The high-level discussions centered on the pivotal role the Council plays as a structural communication channel between Kosovo’s diverse non-majority communities and the state’s central institutions. Both sides emphasized the necessity of ensuring that community-specific concerns, legislative proposals, and development priorities receive consistent, careful institutional review.

Core Pillars of the Institutional Dialogue

During the session, the presidency outlined its vision for social cohesion and minority integration, focusing on three major strategic areas:

  • Democratic Representation: Strengthening the institutional voice of all communities within public bodies and policy-making frameworks.
  • Equitable Access: Ensuring that access to public services, employment opportunities, and civic infrastructure is distributed equally, regardless of ethnic background.
  • Active Decision-Making: Moving beyond passive consultation to actively involving minority leadership in drafting regional and national policies.

“Equality only becomes truly meaningful when citizens have direct, unhindered access to public institutions, quality services, and political decision-making,” Haxhiu declared during the meeting.
