The United States and Iran have reportedly reached an agreement on a 60-day memorandum of understanding aimed at extending the ceasefire and launching negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. However, according to Axios, the deal still requires final approval from Donald Trump.

The reported agreement would mark the most significant diplomatic breakthrough since the start of the conflict, potentially opening the door to broader negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

According to the report, the memorandum would temporarily preserve the ceasefire while creating space for intensive talks focused on Iran’s nuclear activities and U.S. demands regarding regional security and nuclear restrictions.

Despite the apparent progress, officials cautioned that a final comprehensive agreement remains far from complete and would require difficult negotiations in the coming weeks.

The development comes amid continued tensions in the Middle East and growing international pressure to prevent further escalation between the U.S., Iran, and regional actors.
