Citizens opposing the construction projects in the Zvërnec area have announced that their protests will continue.

Thousands of demonstrators gathered today in front of the Ministry of Interior of Albania and then marched toward the government building.

From the Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, participants delivered the message “Tomorrow, More of Us,” announcing another rally on Tuesday at 6:00 PM in front of the Prime Minister’s Office of Albania.

The protesters are demanding the cancellation of the construction project in Zvërnec and accuse the government of handing over public property to oligarchs, while alleging that investors are occupying state-owned land.

On Saturday, private security guards reportedly used force against protesters, and one citizen was dragged along the ground. That incident is said to have sparked the strong public reaction over developments on the Zvërnec coastline.

During today’s gathering in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, protesters demanded not only the cancellation of the project but also the resignation of Edi Rama.

This was the second consecutive day of demonstrations. On Sunday, citizens marched on foot from the Tirana Police Directorate to the Interior Ministry and then concluded their rally at the Prime Minister’s Office.
